Delicious & Decadent!
In a mixing bowl, mix together the sliced strawberries and sugar. Set it aside to macerate
In another bowl add the cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Blend together with a hand mixer until smooth. Set aside
In a separate bowl add eggs, milk, nutmeg, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla. Whisk until combined. Set aside.
Prepare the stuffed french toast, by placing a slice of bread on a plate. Coat one side with the cream cheese filling, leaving about ½ inch of uncoated space
Next, place a couple of spoonfuls of the macerated strawberry mixture on top of the cream cheese filling.
Then take another slice of bread and coat with the cream cheese filling. Place face down on the strawberry covered side.
Dip the whole stuffed French toast into the egg mixture you made earlier. Then place in a preheated skillet, add butter and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Flip and cook both sides until they are golden brown. Repeat this process until all the French toasts are finished.
