5 Kid-Friendly Attractions at Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Call me crazy but I took my family on vacation last summer, we didn’t go once but we went on two different occasions to Bush Gardens Williamsburg. Our long drive proved worth it once we entered the park. I had high expectations from what I remembered from when I had visited when I was little.
These expectations were met and I was surely a happy momma, my 4 kids had a great time and I cannot hear enough of “When are we going back? Well, of course, I don’t know and if I do I will need to purchase a portable DVD player with Dual Screens. I borrowed my mom’s for this and it was a lifesaver! My 1 year old fell asleep to it halfway in the trip which meant NO Crying and a happy momma!

1. Sesame Street Forest of Fun
Head over first to Sesame Street Land, it offers tons of kid-friendly rides and a water park! My 1-year-old was in love with this place, my older kids loved it as well, they ran back and forth through the water and also enjoyed playing with other kids. Here’s a video clip of my baby girl enjoying the water.
2. Land Of The Dinosaurs
Take your toddler on a trip back in time with some fun and friendly dinosaurs! This land boasts plenty of toddler-appropriate rides that will keep your camera lights flashing. With water boats, a dinosaur egg Ferris wheel, high flying planes and even a full high rope activity jungle!
This is safe fun that will surely get all of your toddler/young children’s energy out. My kids went around the jungle twice and still kept begging me to go up with them again. After they have worked up a sweat let them cool off with their very own dinosaur land water park, full of eggs squirting water as well as buckets of water dropping refreshing cool water from the air.
3. Dine With Elmo and Friends
If you don’t mind paying a pretty penny per child and adult your little one can dine with Elmo and friends! Each ticket is good for one show as well as a choice style buffet. Every experience is different then another Each dinner/lunch is different so make sure to consult the park before you purchase your lunch tickets to ensure you are getting what you are paying for.
The show its self was entirely a different experience, Elmo, Big Bird and all of their friends sang and danced as we enjoyed our food. Later they walked around giving children a chance to take pictures with their favorite characters. My 1-year-old was so shy she refused to take a picture, while my other big kids were all but happy to snap a pic.
4. Face Painting
There is nothing more exciting than getting your face painted with your favorite characters and colors. My kids enjoyed their faces being painted with Dragons, Sharks and princess attire. This year when we go back my toddler will get to enjoy her face being painted since she is now old enough to choose what she wants.
5. Live Entertainment
Last but not least LIVE ENTERTAINMENT has to be one of the best features of this park. Grab yourself an information pamphlet at the entrance and plan out your day using their timed routines. I found it easy to schedule what side of the park we were going to be on once I found out what time each performance was going to be.
My kids really enjoyed Busch Gardens take on how the Grimm tales were told. They put a twist on the classic stories by adding in some modern song and dances. Throw in the fun and eye-catching costumes worn but the performers and you have a bunch of people laughing, clapping and gasping at every second of the performance.
Would I recommend your family visit Busch Gardens Williamsburg? YES! Of course, I would! It’s such a great place to bring your family you can’t fit in everything you want to do in one day!

Disney’s Cinderella Movie Review – Featuring Frozen Fever
Read why my families loved the newest telling of this classic fairy tale, in my Disney’s Cinderella Movie Review. See how this classic fairy tale is given a new fresh take on one of the most treasured love stories of all time. Also, make sure you catch this special short at the beginning of the film featuring Frozen Fever.
Disney’s Cinderella Movie Review
My family loved watching Disney’s Cinderella Movie in theaters, we were in such awe. I loved how they dove deeper into Ella’s story and how it had a more realistic take on true love. One of the best parts about this film is the Frozen Forever feature that ran at the beginning of the film. It’s a must see so make sure you come early so you don’t miss it.
Frozen Fever
This mom was super happy to see Frozen Fever before the actual movie Cinderella! It was very cute and starred all of my favorite characters! I don’t want to give away the actual short film but it was uber cute! I loved seeing these famous sisters together as well as all of the other memorable characters. I will warn you, get ready to giggle and smile the whole way through as you see the Frozen group back together again.
Disney’s Cinderella
The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home.
But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Finally relegated to nothing more than a servant girl covered in ashes, and spitefully renamed Cinderella, Ella could easily begin to lose hope.
Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella is determined to honor her mother’s dying words and to “have courage and be kind.” She will not give in to despair nor despise those who mistreat her. And then there is the dashing stranger she meets in the woods.
Unaware that he is really a prince, not merely an apprentice at the Palace, Ella finally feels she has met a kindred soul. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the Palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, raising Ella’s hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit (Richard Madden).
Alas, her stepmother forbids her to attend and callously rips apart her dress. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand, and a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham Carter) steps forward and, armed with a pumpkin and a few mice, changes Cinderella’s life forever.
Ella’s Childhood Story
This honestly was a must-see for me since the cartoon version of Cinderella was played almost every other day in my home as a child. I have seen previous real-life Cinderella movies but many always left me feeling as though I never really got to know ELLA.
The thoughts I’m always left with are ” Who is she? Where did she come from? How did she end up in her position? Can she really talk to animals?” These questions of course have loomed in my head since my early years of watching the original movie.
At the very beginning of this movie you are taken back to Ella’s childhood which gives a look into her early years in life. This was so informative for me since I have always wondered about her parents and her mother in the previous movies. I felt as though it gave great insight into why Ella grew up to be the kind and generous person she was.
Her mother was able to teach her those things in her childhood that later on in the movie and her life she held on to and valued. Her mother taught her to always “Have Courage and Be Kind” No matter what! This lesson was valued throughout her life and more so in her darkest hours.
Ella’s Family
As many of us know her father dies and she is left alone with her stepmother and two stepsisters. In this movie, Disney went deeper into Ella and her father’s store giving insight into their bond and love.
I loved how they did this giving this store even more life and insight into how their classic Disney princess came to be. Ella’s new stepmother was played fiercely by Cate Blanchett who embodied a scorned woman well. The story plays out as the classic tale with her unhappy rude stepsisters.
Prince Charming
I loved how this movie introduced the prince and how they portrayed him as a relateable human being. I also loved the encounters they had together as they were magical and classic. In this real-life version, the prince stopped at nothing to find his lost princess. The lengths he went to just to find his lost princess stayed true to Cinderellas’s Mother saying “Have Courage and Be Kind”.
I would highly recommend this movie for all the little princess’s out there, it’s defiantly a great film for the whole family that involves some really cute humor. I found myself saying “AWWW!” and laughing throughout the movie. Bring your family and friends to see this awesome movie since now it’s in theaters!
