To many, the 4th of July is more than a day of fireworks and parades, it’s about celebrating this awesome country that we love and have fought so hard for. I truly appreciate all of the men and women who have fought for our country and have kept us safe.
For most of us hosting a 4th of July party can be tough, catering to parents and kids’ picky eating habits can be a tall order. Providing the usual hotdogs and burgers are always a staple at any BBQ. I came up with some fun ideas for your family to enjoy this year using the Special Edition Skittles® America Mix.

4th of July Party Ideas
You can find the Special Edition Skittles® America Mix at your local Dollar General store, did I mention that is on sale for Buy 2 Get 2 Free? Imagine how many treats you can make with those. If you are looking for a sweet treat to bring to your next BBQ here are some fun idea’s for you to try.
The Special Edition Skittles® America Mix features strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, and yummy berry flavors. Yummy berry is Skilltes® first white fruity candy ever! Perfect for sprinkling some fun on any of your BBQ treats.
Skittles® Inspired Treats
My kids totally love the Special Edition Skittles® America Mix, they went so perfectly with the treats we whipped up that they can’t wait till you try them. These treats were so easy to make the kids were able to help out.
Everything from dipping the pretzel sticks in the chocolate to decorating the shooting stars they had a blast. My favorite was the red, white, and blue dessert yum! So fresh and light with a kick of fruity sweetness with the Skittles®.
Shooting Stars
Homemade rice crispy treats with your favorite Red White and Blue Skittles®. To make these yummy homemade Rice Crispy Shooting Stars. Heat in a saucepan 4 tablespoons of butter, then 10 ozs of marshmallows. Stir until marshmallows and butter are melted and combined, mix in 6 cups of rice crispy cereal.
Mix well and spread out on a baking sheet, press down to your desired height and let sit until cooled. Cut into stars and then set aside, top with melted white chocolate, and then cover them with Skitlles® America Mix.
Fire Cracker Pretzels
Pretzel sticks dipped in white or dark chocolate, then covered in sprinkles and Skitlles® America Mix. Perfect for grab-and-go kids who want to get back to the water balloon fight.
Red White and Blue Dessert
Layers on top of layers of pound cake, strawberries, whipped cream, pound cake, blueberries, whipped cream, repeat until you make it to the top, then generously add your favorite flavors of the Skittle® America Mix.
Utensil Holders
Make some fun utensil holders from a piece of fabric for your local fabric store. Cut into small squares and then fold over your utensils, and use a red piece of string to keep it all together. You can even add a fun little printables to the string, or names of whoever is attending your party.
Star Dogs in a Blanket
Use crescent rolls and lay them in a triangle shape, cut hot dogs in half, and then cut the ends so they are straight and pointed. Lay one hot dog on top of the other and then wrap around the hot dogs until you form a point at the top between the hot dogs.
Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 14-16 minutes, watch until golden brown. Let sit for at least 4-5 minutes and then serve with your favorite sauces.
Patriotic Table Topper
Top your tables with this cute easy DIY Table topper using paper crinkles. Find your favorite glass vase and layer in the red, white, and blue crinkle papers. throw in some mini flags and then top your tables. My kids had a great time making these and then sticking the flags inside.

Skittles are a family favorite. These are great party ideas. It is also my Nieces birthday on the 4th of July. We always have a big celebration.
