Universal CityWalk boasts many different restaurants and shops that you truly can’t find anywhere else. Places like Toothsome Chocolate Emporium, Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar, and of course Margaritaville. A short walk from Universal’s WaterTaxi, and right around the corner from Universal’s Hotel Path. Don’t let the name fool you, this restaurant offers more than just delicious Margarita’s.
Family Forward in Orlando Florida
During our trip with Family Forward in Orlando Florida, my family dined at Margaritaville for dinner. We hopped on a water taxi from our Universal Loews Saphire Falls Resort and headed to CityWalk.
The views from the water taxi to the restaurant are beautiful, you can see the restaurant as you approach the dock. The Margarita lover inside of me got extra excited as we got closer to Margaritaville.
Margaritaville at CityWalk
The upstairs of the restaurant is home to their Tiki Dining area which makes you feel like you’re really on an island. From the balcony of the upstairs Tiki Dining area, you can see the margarita-filled volcano at The Volcano Bar. While waiting to place our order we were able to see the volcano Erupt and watch as delicious Margarita’s flowed out of this monster volcano.
Frozen Mango Margaritaville
I definitely made sure I ordered myself a Mango Margarita because hey, it is Margaritaville right? They had no problems turning my delicious drink into a frozen Mango Margarita which by the way is one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly balanced flavors and is so good I wish I had ordered a second one.
Appetizers at Margaritaville CityWalk
For our appetizer, I chose the Lava Lava Shrimp, but since I’m highly lactose intolerant they subbed half the order for grilled shrimp. I love it when restaurants can accommodate dishes for people like me and not even flinch at doing so.
Food at Margaritaville
The kids said the Lava Lava Shrimp was delicious and I definitely enjoyed my grilled shrimp. My kids got Cheeseburgers in Paradise and they loved every bite of them. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast with Mango Salsa, roasted corn, and Island Rice, I absolutely loved the whole dish and ate every bite.
Universal’s CityWalk Margaritaville
Although we didn’t stick around for dessert or another frozen Margarita we did take a walk through the restaurant and the outside balcony. This fun-themed restaurant has a fun ship-themed seating area as well as a fun nautical bar.
Between the Margarita Filled Volcano and the huge detailed ship complete with a mast, it’s hard to pick your favorite seat in the house. I hope to go back and get a margarita from the volcano next year and catch the volcano erupting.
Visiting Universal CityWalk Orlando
The kids had a great time, and what better way to end the day than with a good meal and a wonderful view. The drinks are good, the food is delicious. There are so many reasons why Margaritaville should be on your “must-visit” list when visiting Universal CityWalk Orlando.
Whether you arrive by land, air, or sea, you’re always welcome at this ultra-relaxed ode to island life. Unwind to the tune of live musicians playing Jimmy Buffett covers tropical sounds, and rock hits, all while awaiting the eruption of the margarita-filled volcano at The Volcano Bar.
