Easy Pulled Pork Tacos
This is the perfect recipe to make during the winter months. Since you cook this recipe low and slow, it instantly warms up the house which I’m a huge fan of. In Virginia, it can get pretty cold and I’m always looking for ways to kill two birds with one stone.

Cooking Tips & Flavor Variations
For melt-in-your-mouth pork in a fraction of the time, use a pressure cooker. It offers the same tender results as a slow cooker in about 60–70 minutes. If you prefer a hands-off approach, the slow cooker is perfect for letting the flavors develop all day in about 8 hours on low or 4–5 hours on high while you tackle your to-do list.
Pulled pork tacos are wonderfully versatile. Here’s how to make them your own:
Make it crispy – Sear the pulled pork in a skillet with a little oil for caramelized, crispy edges.
Warm your tortillas – A quick toast in a dry skillet or on a grill gives them extra flavor and makes them more pliable.
Layer flavors – Start with pork, add fresh toppings, and finish with a bright squeeze of lime for the perfect bite.
Go smoky or sweet – Toss the pork in smoky BBQ sauce, tangy chipotle sauce, or a sweet pineapple glaze depending on your mood.

Topping Ideas for the Perfect Pork Taco
Elevate your easy pork tacos with these topping combos:
Bold & Tangy: Pickled red onions, shredded cabbage, and chipotle mayo.
Classic Street Style: Onion, cilantro, lime juice, and a dash of hot sauce.
Sweet & Spicy: Pineapple salsa, pickled jalapeños, and fresh cilantro.
Creamy Dreamy: Avocado slices, shredded cheese, and sour cream.

Pulled Pork Tacos
These Easy Pulled Pork Tacos have juicy flavorful pulled pork that's cooked low and slow. Piled high with your favorite toppings, make these ahead of time for large crowds and gatherings. Any day is a Taco Tuesday!
Ingredients
- 5-6 lb. pork roast (I used bone-in pork butt)
- 4 Tbsp of Grade A maple syrup
- 2 Tbsp of Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 5 tsp of fresh minced garlic
- Salt
- (For the tacos: your favorite tortillas and any favorite toppings)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 475 degrees.
- Place the pork roast in an oven-safe pan and salt well. Place the fat side of the pork, up.
- While the oven continues to preheat, in a small bowl combine the syrup, mustard, brown sugar, and garlic. As soon as the oven is ready, pour the mixture over the pork, spreading as well as you can. Cover the pan/pork with aluminum foil and put it in the oven.
- After about 10 minutes, turn the heat down to 200 degrees and let it cook low and slow for 7-8 hours. Do NOT open the oven door.
- When it’s done, remove it from the oven. You can either let it cool or start pulling the pork apart right away (remove the fat off the top first).
- Serve right away or store it for serving later, and remember to top the tacos with your favorite toppings.
