5 Ways To Make Summer Time Cool

There are many ways to make summertime cool, some are tastier than others. This summer is already off to a great start for my family, we have beach trips planned along with a few visits to our favorite theme parks. Try New Recipes

Try something new this summer and stick to foods that don’t require an oven. Using an oven can heat up the whole home, so find recipes you can make and pop into the refrigerator. I like to make cold pasta salads for lunch and cook things in my slow cooker during the day for dinner. Using the slow cooker helps reduce the heat omitted in the home and also provides an effortless way to make some delicious meals.

Plan A Staycation

If you aren’t planning on leaving too far from home this summer plan on having a staycation instead. Vacations aren’t just for those who travel, they are for families who stay home too. Like above you can find free things to do in your town, or you can find a local event and attend with the whole family.

I like to take advantage of family-friendly events in local museums, restaurants, and local fairs. Stay cool and join a local YMCA or gym and cool off in a huge pool with the family or grab a quick workout and do some laps.

Get Out and Play 1 Hour a Day

The heat can get brutal during the summer but don’t let that slow you down from going outside for at least 1 hour a day. It’s great for the kids to burn off their energy and good to get some fresh air, enhance the fun and whip out those water balloons and have a family-friendly game of war.
