Today I adventured into Wendy’s with my crew to celebrate the upcoming Memorial Day Festival, to prep for the event we like to visit our favorite restaurants to get stuffed and energized for the event. To my surprise there were some delicious new options to choose from in our local Wendy’s Restaurant, I was able to pick from the new Wendy’s Core Salad options.
Introducing Wendy’s New Core Salad Options
There is a big difference between “fresh” and “freshly assembled.” Some restaurants assemble their salads with only frozen and pre-packaged lettuce and produce, but they have an “aura” of freshness because customers can see their salads being made.
These are a few ways Wendy’s ensures the freshest ingredients every time people come to their restaurants. In every Wendy’s restaurant, employees freshly chop vegetables every day, starting with full heads of iceberg and romaine lettuces and other veggies like cucumbers and tomatoes.
How awesome is that where you are basically eating the freshest ingredients versus frozen and thawed veggies? Every salad entrée uses only premium white meat chicken breasts that are grilled at the time of your order and placed warm on your salad.
Wendy’s BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad
Wendy’s BBQ Ranch Chicken Saladharkens to a smoky backyard grill-out with fire-roasted sweet corn, freshly diced tomatoes, light and lively spring mix combined with Applewood Smoked bacon and grilled chicken drizzled with savory BBQ sauce, topped with creamy Simply Dressed® BBQ Ranch Dressing.
Wendy’s Apple Pecan Chicken Salad
Wendy’s Apple Pecan Chicken Salad marries the crisp refreshing snap of ripe red and green apples with the delectable crunch of roasted pecans. This springtime splendor harmonizes sweet and savory throughout with delicious cranberries and creamy blue cheese crumbles topped with Marzetti® Simply Dressed®Pomegranate Vinaigrette.
Wendy’s Asian Cashew Chicken Salad
Wendy’s Asian Cashew Chicken Salad is a twist on the typical Asian salad with on-trend, flavorful ingredients like fire-roasted edamame, fresh red peppers and cucumbers, spicy roasted cashews, warm, grilled chicken breast and Marzetti® Simply Dressed® Light Spicy Asian Chili Vinaigrette.
Wendy’s Core Salads
I choose to try the Wendy’s Asian Cashew Chicken Salad during my visit with my crew, with of course a side of cheese fries! The salad came fresh and each of the ingredients looked crisp and ready for me to eat.
My Wendy’s Salad Review
This was so insanely delicious I finished the entire full-size portion, the lettuce and vegetables were so fresh and crisp. I love how the Cashews and Salad dressing worked perfectly in sync with the grilled chicken and salad.
You can’t see them but below the top of the salad is fire-roasted edamame which is amazing! I even let my daughter try the salad and she gave me a thumbs-up of approval.
Everything was perfectly well balanced and left me feeling very satisfied, of course with every salad the dressing comes separately. I suggest you use as much as you are comfortable with being a little bit or a lot! (I choose a lot the dressing is delicious) The dressing had a nice light flavor and wasn’t SPICY but was filled with lots of flavor.
Get Fresh with Wendy’s Core Salads
I really liked the fresh red peppers and found all of the ingredients to be generous throughout the salad. There was a good amount of chicken to go with each bite and I loved the seasoning they used which wasn’t spicy (hot) but was very flavorful. It had a great grill flavor but wasn’t weighed down by a bunch of salt or herbs.
I would highly recommend this salad or any of the Wendy’s Core Salads to anyone looking to enjoy a fresh salad during their visit to Wendy’s. This salad was a great meal in a place where you usually only think about burgers and fries when your kids ask for you to go.
Now that you know about these awesome salads will you be visiting Wendy’s to try any of them? Which one would you like to try?

Disney’s Tomorrowland Movie Review
When I first saw the trailers for this movie I had sort of an idea of what the movie was going to be about, lets just say the trailers leave much to the imagination making room for them to surprise you.
In the beginning, we meet one of the main characters Casey (Britt Robertson), and her family, we are kind of thrown into what is happening in her world and her big worries as to how things are “changing”. Casey is arrested for her 2nd offense at sabotage and after being released finds a pin among her claimed belongings.

After she touches the pin she is immediately taken to a new world which she cannot help but want to explore. To find out where this pin came from she sets out on an adventure that takes her to TX. With some help from Athena (Raffey Cassidy) She later runs into Frank Walker (George Clooney), a former Tomorrowland resident who is bitter about being exiled. Together all 3 find their way to Tomorrowland which Frank reluctantly takes them back to.
An aspect I did not foresee this movie to feature was facts about how the world’s current crisis with natural and unnatural events was happening. For example, the polar ice caps melting, as well as the increase in dangerous weather many have experienced or seen within the past few years. Casey’s character is very invested in how we can change this crisis and why we aren’t making more of an initiative to do so.
I was very surprised to see this story sort of take a spin on that note and instead of just take us to a new world like Tomorrowland, take us on an adventure to help save billions of lives. I wont spoil the movie to much for you but I feel as though the trailers leave much room for you to be surprised.
The idea of the movie had much to do with Walt Disney’s original dream of a utopia that provided eco-friendly modern advances that helped human kind without sacrificing precious natural resources.

The story does develop and features some nice action packed scenes that the kids would definitely enjoy, oh and there is some great humor as well! My favorite parts had to be the few times Casey bumped into walls as she tried to use her button to see Tomorrowland.
During the end of the movie it seems as though the story shifts from adventuring to a new place to more of a eco-conscious message. This was something I wasn’t expecting and was left hoping there was a sequel to this movie to bring more light to Tomorrowland and the new exciting adventures it could boast.
What I hope people take from this movie is that self awareness of the world around is very important and that change can happen if we all start today inside of tomorrow.
I would recommend this movie for kids 11+ Years or older
Simply put because it is a complex storyline that the little ones would find it hard to follow, there are some great awe-inspiring scenes including special effects and visuals that keep you on edge.
