Honeypot follow a young shy chipmunk as he sets out on incredible adventures that he once only read about in books. I’m excited to read this with my girls as a part of our Summer Reading Challenge for school.

My Families Adventures of Rockford T. Honeypot Book Review
Let me start off by saying how wonderful this book is and how it’s perfect for young and older readers. I spent a few weeks (don’t judge us we are slow readers LOL) reading The Adventures of Rockford T. Honeypot with the girls.
This book is hands down one of the best books we have read together as a family. There is so much adventure it really does live up to its title.
There is so much to love about this book, we fell in love with Rockford (aka Rocky) and every new character we met. My favorites were Sora and Jewel, while the girl’s favorite was Apple and Sue-Anne.
This story is full of everything you need to have a fun adventure right at home. It’s filled with love stories, heroes, geniuses, discoveries, recipes, friendship, I mean you name it and it’s got it.
As an adult, I loved some of the references to real-life places and companies, for example, “Harvest Law School” gave me such a giggle. Crabapples are their version of beer and an “animalist” well I’m sure you can already guess what they are referring to there.
There was also a reference to animals being “Toffee Nosed” and well I already know a few real-life toffee-nosed people. While these references made this adult giggle it was 100% kid-friendly and appropriate for them to see these references in the story.
One of my favorite quotes from the book “Have the courage to balance the branches of my life, to find the serenity for my Honeypots.” This really spoke to me and humbles me every time I read it. It reminds me that I just need to puff out my chest, hold my head high, and take on whatever life has for me and my family. All while balancing the important things with the things that my family loves together.
