Take a look behind the scenes in my latest post about Visiting The Set of Marvel’s Agents of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Plus read an exclusive Interview with Chloe Bennet and Ann Foley about what it’s like working on this new Marvel show.

Disclosure: I was provided with an all-expense paid trip to L.A to facilitate the review of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.
Interview With Chloe Bennet and Ann Foley
During my recent trip to LA, I was able to visit the set of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D ( yeah pinch me it happened!) and while I was there I was able to speak with some of the cast in an awesome interview as well as walk around the set.
Let me just say everything is as awesome as it is on the big screen but more compact than you would think. Yeah, this fangirl was freaking out while on set since it’s so cool to see what’s on the big screen in real life.

Visiting The Set of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In LA
I feel so honored Ming-Na Wen (by the way one of my favorite actors of all time! I have loved her since ER!) shared this photo and tweeted about us the day we visited her. UGH, This fangirl melted in her chair when she saw it…I have no idea why I’m speaking in 3rd person but I think it’s just too much awesome sauce to fully take in right now.
Oh and look to the far right, YES! You see it! It’s a tiny hint of LoLa! And sadly no I didn’t get to sit in her but wouldn’t that have been awesome!

Ming-Na Special Tweet
After the interviews with most of the cast, we were able to actually go and walk through the set and take pictures with some of the props which were very cool! View a special tweet Ming-Na Wen shared on Twitter during our visit.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet
This photo is from the Quinjet which was actually used in the Avengers Movie and transported to this set! From what I remember this is a multi-million dollar set/prop that we had to be OH so careful with. Thank goodness I didn’t break anything I don’t have a million dollars laying around.
Chatting With Ann Foley – Costume Designer
To add to this awesome experience we were able to briefly speak with Ann Foley who is the show’s costume designer. She spoke to us about her vision board, some iconic costumes as well as some of the difficulties she faced meeting deadlines and fittings. Can you imagine how awesome it would be to have a job where you are paid to shop for clothes?
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fun Fact:
There is a vision board that Ann and her team use to help create looks and costumes for the cast. The board serves as inspiration for where Ann would like to see the character’s looks go and when you view it you can see how the costumes begin to become edgier and darker.
Reina’s Dress
Ann Foley: This is my workshop this is where we built a lot of the costumes on the show, I have a few of the costumes on the manikins we made here in house and one of them being Reina’s with the flower printed dress which is Reina’s probably one of my favorite characters.
We actually print the fabric and made it in house, I worked with the writers closely and went into Reina’s head, and depending on where her head was in that episode we tried to choose that color wisely, they are all 100% custom made and that’s special to our show.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fun Facts
- If you look at the silver sequin dress that is May’s dress from earlier on in the show.
- Ann and her team only had 1 Week to make this dress, and they had to make FIVE total!
- Ann Foley – “Those tiny sequins you see on there – We were finding these sequins all over the studio!”
Why Did You Have To Make Five Of Them?
Ann Foley: We made five because Ming was fighting herself in the episode so we had one beautiful one for May and one she could fight in that we sewed stretch panels in, and she had two stunt doubles and then Agent 33 wore one as well.
The other two costumes on the right are Skye’s new tactical outfit which its hood is custom made and then mockingbird which we all know about.
Next, we walked through more of the set and ended up in front of this logo which I felt as though I was violating a top-secret facility.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Group Photo
Next we sat at a table to take a group selfie, I just want to add how unbearably hard it was for me to not take a picture of so many differnt things I saw. We were on a basic media blackout during this entire visit which was for a few hours (torture I tell you! hours! No phone!) Anywho we weren’t able to post any photos until now but thankfully I can finally share these now and now yall get to see how awesome this entire set was!

A Brief Moment With Chloe Bennet (Skye)
Sadly in our previous interviews with the other cast members at the beginning of our visit, we weren’t able to speak with Chloe due to her hectic schedule. The universe smiled on us though because during our walk through the set we ran into Skye and Lincoln prepping for their newest scene! Oh did I forget to mention we got to watch her practice and film the scene?
If you’re wondering no I didn’t ruin it by coughing or doing something else stereotypical but the fear of it accidentally happening was in the air – It was tense! We were situated in front of some monitors with some headsets which we shared with one another so that we could see how the process works.
During our brief encounter with Skye though we were able to chat with her for a few minutes questioning her about her thoughts and feelings about the show.
— Sorry, no spoilers though we can’t report any of it —
Although I think it’s safe for me to report that on one of her scenes mother nature helped with her dramatic gestures that everyone thought she must have timed perfectly, yet she denied any credit.
