Plan the perfect family vacation to Virginia’s largest water park, Water Country USA. Boosting family-friendly water rides, lazy rivers, and a 23,000-square-foot wave pool. This place is fun to visit for family members of all ages. After having visited I would recommend a few things, first I would say you do not have to splurge and get a cabana or lounger.
However, if you have a large party, it gives you the benefit of quiet space away from the crowds. Along with a safe place to put your belongings. Read more helpful tips, including why I recommend getting the Quick Que add-on service below.
Water Country USA Review (JULY 2021)
The kids and I had a blast! We have never visited Water Country USA before so we really didn’t know what to expect. While we weren’t able to ride all of the water slides we wanted to during our visit, we had a blast just adventuring around the park together as a family.
Our favorite pass time was hands down the surfers bay and the Hubba-Bubba Highway. Everyone keeps a nice distance from each other while we all float down this fun comical river. Esuun had a blast toting me around and making sure I was under every coconut that was dropping water.
We stopped for a brief lunch at the LaunchPad cafe and then grabbed some drinks and snacks before we headed out. Check out the photos below to see all the fun tasty things we tried during our visit to Water Country USA.

Buy Tickets Online
You can avoid stress on the day of your visit by booking your tickets, parking, and any upgrades beforehand. I highly recommend taking advantage of purchasing your tickets online. They have awesome seasonal sales that help you save tons of money!
Plus, the ticket sales window is always backed up, so you can spend more time enjoying the park and less time standing in line by purchasing your tickets online.
Mask Policy
Currently, Water Country USA asks that all guests wear their masks indoors and in the common areas. You do not have to wear a mask while eating, on a water ride, or in the pools, this includes the lazy river and splash zones.
Quick Que
I’m going to say this very calmly “Get the Quick Que!”. It is 100% worth every penny and will help save you and the family a lot of time. Spend more time having fun and less time waiting in line with unlimited priority access for the whole day on Cutback Water Coaster™, Colossal Curl™, Big Daddy Falls®, Vanish Point®, and Malibu Pipeline®.

Lazy River – Hubba Bubba Highway
Take a road trip on our radical river adventure is 1,500 feet of free-floating fun. From surprise geysers and serious sprays to crazy coconuts just waiting for the chance to drench, it’s like a lazy river that’s anything but lazy.
The fast-moving current keeps you speeding along Hubba Hubba Highway®. No waiting and no raft required. Just walk right in and float as long as you like.
Surfers Bay
Get ready to experience awesome waves (bonus: no sharks). Whether you’re up for some serious bodysurfing or simply practicing your back float, the largest wave pool in Virginia is an ocean of fun.
It’s just like at the beach, walk into the water and enjoy the waves. The 23,000 square-foot pool gradually reaches 8 feet deep. So grab a life vest or brave the waves on your own as the surf starts crashing every 10 minutes with cycles of four-foot waves that last 8 minutes.

Refuel for more fun in the sun with the family at one of these dining options at Water Country USA. The kids and I grabbed pizzas, drinks, and fruit from the Launch Pad express cafe. We were in and out within 5 minutes, I also grabbed some chicken nuggets and fries from the Cosmic Cafe. The pizzas were decently priced and what you expect at a water park, they were delicious for sure!

Take a break from the heat and cool off with a refreshing drink from the Doc Bar, or a soft-serve ice cream cone from Coolsville. Look out for other tasty treats and drinks in the food court area, when we were visiting they were hosting a Kona truck and Dip and Dots booth!
