6 Reasons Why Music Helps With Chores

Turn on your favorite music as you listen to our 6 reasons why music helps with chores. Then leave your experiences below to share with others.

1. Music Is Good For The Soul

Has your mom ever told you that food was good for the soul? Well, the same goes for good music, it can really speak to you and put you in a great place.

2. Helps Motivate You

I’ve been known to play “Eye of the Tiger” a few times while cleaning just to motivate me to tackle huge jobs. By huge I mean gutting a room and then redoing everything down to moving furniture. I’m one of those people where I alternate furniture around rooms every few months just to keep things interesting.

3. Elevates Your Mood

If you’re not in a cleaning mood just turn on an upbeat tune to get you into the mode of cleaning. Whenever I feel as though I need a boost in my enthusiasm to clean I just put on one of my favorite upbeat tunes to get me moving.

4. Distract’s You From The Work Load

The one lesson that all humans learn is that when you’re having fun you don’t notice how much time has passed, as well as how long something can feel when your not enjoying yourself. Putting on music while cleaning can help pass the time as you tackle tough stains and hidden toys.

5. Can Help You Stay On Track

Track your progress or even help yourself time what chores you will tackle during the day. I’ve found counting the number of songs I listen to during each chore keeps me on track with what I am able to accomplish.

I don’t know if this happens to you but sometimes when I’m doing chores I can become focused on one thing which ends up throwing my whole schedule off. Setting a limit to how long you spend on each task can keep you organized and happy.

6. Possibly Lose Weight

It’s a fact that when your body is in motion you are burning calories, so it’s safe to say cleaning can burn calories. Let’s add on top of that the dance breakout sessions you have while cleaning and listening to music and times that calorie-burning power by 3! I can’t help but dance while I’m cleaning and listening to music, it really does feel like I got a full workout.
