The Best Meals Under Twenty Dollars in Walt Disney World
All around Disney World is great food. A lot of even the not-so-great food is expensive though. Great values are out there, but it can sometimes be a challenge to find them. Read on for some of the best meals on Disney Property that you can get for under $20. Most of these are Table Service locations and they are all superb.
Flame Tree Barbecue
Flame Tree is a counter-service restaurant, but it’s one of my favorite spots to eat in Animal Kingdom. It has a beautiful view of the water and it’s on the way everywhere. Plus, you can get an entree, a side, and a dessert for under $20.
My favorite thing to get does not leave room in the budget to order another side, but it comes with beans and coleslaw anyway. It’s the 1/2 slow-smoked marinated chicken. You can get that plus a banana maple cake for dessert for less than $20. And unlike those table service locations, there is no gratuity to factor into the overall cost.
Via Napoli Ristorante
First up is a fan favorite that took me a long time to come around on. I figured pizza is pizza. I have had bad pizza, but I had doubts about how good you can really make it.
Via Napoli is the place to go in Epcot for outstanding pizza that will make you understand how good a pizza can actually be. The 10″ Margherita is a great value for under $20. You can add additional toppings, but you really don’t need to.
Skipper Canteen
One of my favorite new places to dine in Disney World is the Jungle Navigation Co Ltd Skipper Canteen. This place is not cheap, nor is it outrageously expensive. There are a couple things you can get under $20 here, but you have to try the curried vegetable crew stew. It includes pineapple tofu, house-made curry, and coconut rice.
Kona Cafe
What if you don’t want to buy a park ticket to have lunch or dinner? Kona Cafe in the Polynesian Resort near the Magic Kingdom has one really great value in the grilled chili-dusted shrimp. It’s a zesty and flavorful dish containing heirloom tomatoes, avocado, pickled onions, cilantro, and a creamy lemon vinaigrette.
Brown Derby
Disney’s Hollywood Studios has my favorite Disney World Restaurant. It faithfully recreates the experience of the original Brown Derby that inspired it, from the architecture and decor, right down to the famous Cobb salad. Yes, it is an entree and it is under $20.
