Cinnamon Apple Quinoa Breakfast Bowl
I have found a new love for Quinoa and how versatile it can be, it’s perfect for any meal and a lot easier to cook than I thought it was. When I think of breakfast bowls I think of something warm and full of flavor that is going to help me power through my mornings.
With school starting, I needed to find something that would be easy to make, and also something that would taste good.
Cinnamon Apple Quinoa
I know when we think of fall the great debate starts where we have to decide between apples and pumpkins. Well, this year I’m not going to decide, I’m just going to indulge in both equally and just ignore the age-old debate. This recipe is great for those fresh apples you picked at the Apple Farm or local farmers’ market.

How to make Cinnamon Apple Quinoa
In a small saucepan over medium heat stir the quinoa, apple juice, and water together. Bring it to a boil and cover. Cook for 25 minutes or until the quinoa is soft. Add the honey, cinnamon, and milk and stir to combine. Set aside.
Cinnamon Apple’s
- apple, peeled and diced
- honey
- cinnamon
- nutmeg
- Walnuts, caramel Greek yogurt and extra cinnamon as a topping
Place the apples, honey, and spices in a pan over medium heat. Cook until the apples are soft, around 4 minutes. Serve big bowls of quinoa topped with cinnamon apples.
Recipe Notes
- You can use more water instead of apple juice or add shredded carrots while the quinoa is cooking to infuse it with more apple flavor.
- I love to top it with walnuts and a drizzle of salted caramel but you can use your favorite toppings.
- You can keep it refrigerated for up to 3 days so it’s a great make-ahead breakfast!
