Why We Chose Landmark Resort in Myrtle Beach

If you’re planning a Myrtle Beach vacation and trying to decide where to stay, finding the right oceanfront resort can make all the difference. During one of our family trips to South Carolina, we stayed at Landmark Resort in Myrtle Beach, and it ended up being one of those vacations we’ll always remember.

From waking up to sunrise views over the Atlantic Ocean to late-night walks collecting seashells along the beach, this stay gave us exactly the relaxing beach getaway we were hoping for.

In this Landmark Resort Myrtle Beach review, I’m sharing our honest experience, what we loved, what to expect, and whether I’d recommend it for families planning a Myrtle Beach vacation.

Visiting the Landmark Resort in Myrtle Beach

Add in the beachfront access, and you have a wonderful stay ahead of you on one of the most beautiful beaches in the US. When it got dark, the kids and I walked along the beach and collected seashells using flashlights. There were other families there as well, and even a fireworks display.

Things to Know Before Booking

During special times of the year, depending on whether you are on the North or South side of Myrtle Beach, private companies will put on fireworks displays. Make sure you check the Vacation Myrtle Beach Website for more information before your visit. You never know what type of events are going on until you check.

  • Parking can be busy during peak summer travel.
  • Oceanfront rooms are worth the upgrade.
  • The resort is ideal for families thanks to its pools and direct beach access.
  • If you’re visiting during special events like Bike Week or holiday weekends, expect larger crowds.
  • Consider requesting a higher floor for even better ocean views.

Our Oceanfront Room

One of my favorite parts of staying at Landmark Resort was our oceanfront balcony. Every morning I grabbed a coffee from the Havana Java Bar downstairs before sitting outside to watch the sunrise over the Atlantic. There’s something incredibly relaxing about hearing the waves before the rest of the beach wakes up.

Our suite felt spacious enough for our family, and having a full kitchen, living room, and private balcony made it much more comfortable than staying in a standard hotel room. If you’re traveling with kids or planning to stay several days, having extra space is a huge bonus.

Quick Walk-Through Video Posted on My Facebook Page

Check out the full-room tour I posted on my Facebook Page during our visit. The video cut off at the balcony due to a loss of service. Since we were at the beach, it was probably best that we all put our phones and electronics down and just enjoy our time together.

What We Loved

  • Beautiful oceanfront views
  • Direct beach access
  • Family-friendly atmosphere
  • Full kitchen in our suite
  • Plenty of pools and water activities

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

  • Elevators can be busy during peak season.
  • The summer months are naturally more crowded.
  • Reserve oceanfront rooms early for the best views.

The Gazebo Restaurant

Before you start your day on the beach, make sure to head downstairs for a breakfast buffet that will make the whole family happy. The Gazebo Restaurant serves a wonderful breakfast buffet spread that will keep your family full and ready for the beach.

Purchase your breakfast ahead of time or pay after you eat. Make sure to check out their website for deals that can help save you money during your visit.

Playing at Myrtle Beach

After your family has eaten their fill of breakfast, head down to the beach using the Landmark Resorts beach access route. Pick a spot on the beach and go have fun, my big kids had a blast waveboarding. Since little Esuun was just a tad too small and a tiny bit afraid, we stayed more towards the beach area, where she played in the sand.

Esuun made a friend while playing and adventured out into the water with her. The water was clean, and the fun was endless. We spent two days on the beach and had a fantastic time.

Indoor Pools and a Lazy River

If you need a break from the weather outside or maybe just want to head inside for a few hours with the family, then you should definitely check out their Indoor Pools and lazy river. Along with the indoor pool and lazy river, you will find Five Indoor Whirlpools as well as an Indoor Kiddie Fun Pool. The kids had a great time playing in the indoor pools, and I had a great time in the many whirlpools.

The Sugar Shack

If you’re looking to recharge, visit one of the Snack Shops located at the pool area of the resort, packed with delicious food and drink options. The Sugar Shack is your go-to place for some delicious Ice Cream with unlimited chocolate and sprinkles toppings.

My kids loved their ice cream and had a great time taking a break and cooling off from the summer heat. Check out the other delicious places your family can dine while staying at The Landmark Resort

Mini-golf in Myrtle Beach

After lunch, we headed to the nine-hole putt-putt course, which is surrounded by tropical landscaping. That was located directly next to the parking garage for the resort. It was a lot of fun, and the kids loved it. Anthony kept track of everyone’s score, and of course, it got a little competitive.

Keturah and Esuun lost a few balls in the water but finished the course with ease. Although we didn’t get a chance to go, there was the H2OASIS water park located next to the putt-putt course that had tons of fun waterfall features. There were some buckets of water that fell, and a few places for the adults to relax in the water or poolside.
